(Reuters) – Microsoft Corp (NASDAQ:) stated on Thursday it had disrupted hacking makes an attempt by Russian army spies geared toward breaking into Ukrainian, European Union, and American targets.
In a weblog publish, the tech agency stated a gaggle it nicknamed “Strontium” was utilizing seven web domains as a part of an effort to spy on authorities our bodies and assume tanks within the EU and the USA, in addition to Ukrainian establishments corresponding to media organizations.
Microsoft didn’t establish any of the targets by title.
Strontium is Microsoft’s moniker for a gaggle others typically name Fancy Bear or APT28 – a hacking squad linked to Russia’s army intelligence company.
