The Netherlands defeating South Africa by 13 runs in their last group stage match, has eventually paved a way for Team India to the semi-finals. South Africa post losing to Netherlands at the Adelaide Oval on Sunday has ended its T20 World Cup 2022 campaign with 5 points.

Whereas India is at the top position with 6 points and has secured a last-four berth, even if they lose their last Super 12 match to Zimbabwe later Sunday. The Indian Team missed to qualify for the 2021 edition of the tournament in the UAE.

South Africa`s loss has given both Pakistan and Bangladesh hope of securing the second semifinal sport from Group 2. The two teams, on four points each, will clash later on Sunday and the winner will enter the semifinal.

The victory by the Netherlands makes things even tighter in Group 2, with Pakistan and Bangladesh now moving into contention for a semifinal berth, with the winner of their clash in Adelaide set to move past South Africa and seal a top-two berth.

The Netherlands was rejoicing after having pulled off one of the biggest upsets in the history of the ICC Men`s T20 World Cup and sending the Proteas tumbling out of semifinal contention.
