The necklace and the pair of earrings, which have been preserved of their unique state, joined the Louvre’s assortment in 2004.

Created in 1855 by jeweler Paul-Alfred Bapst for Empress Eugénie, the diamond and gold brooch, generally known as the “reliquary brooch,” consists of seven diamonds surrounding a rosette, adopted by two massive diamonds that lie reverse one another, and extra diamonds that droop from them.
