Former Venezuelan ambassador to the US, Carlos Vecchio, informed Al Jazeera he knew Santos properly, describing him as a “nice particular person” and “chief”.
Vecchio stated there are indications Santos was “tortured” and “dumped” on the roadside the place he was discovered.
The report follows a deepening crackdown on opposition voices in Venezuela, the place Maduro was named the winner of a disputed election in late June.
