It’s Web Explorer day in US v. Google!

We’re a bit over an hour into Sundar Pichai’s testimony in US v. Google, and we’ve spent a shocking quantity of the morning in a time machine again to 2005.

That’s when Microsoft launched Web Explorer 7 (the browser a Pichai-led group would finally crush by launching Google Chrome). On the time, Google’s authorized chief David Drummond despatched Microsoft a letter that was very mad about search defaults. Drummond wished a alternative display, and stated Google was very fearful in regards to the anticompetitive nature of Microsoft prioritizing its personal search engine.

Pichai is being requested a number of questions that quantity to, “that is now the argument in opposition to you, proper?” To this point, he’s sparring with it fairly nicely.
