The U.S. Secret ‌Service stated on Sunday its brokers shot and killed a person in his ‌20s after he tried to unlawfully enter a safe ‌perimeter at President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Seashore, Fla.

The Secret Service stated in an announcement that at about 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, a person in his early 20s was shot by U.S. Secret Service brokers and a deputy from the Palm Seashore County Sheriff’s Workplace (PBSO) after an “unauthorized entry into the safe perimeter at Mar-a-Lago.”

Though Trump usually spends weekends at his resort, he was on the White Home on the time of the incident. First woman Melania Trump was with the president on Saturday night time.

The identification of the person is being withheld pending notification of subsequent of kin, in line with the federal legislation enforcement company.

He “was noticed by the north gate of the Mar-a-Lago property carrying what gave the impression to be a shotgun and a gas can,” the assertion reads.

Secret Service brokers and a PBSO deputy reportedly confronted the person and legislation enforcement fired photographs. No Secret Service or PBSO officers have been injured, the assertion stated.

“The incident, together with the person’s background, actions, potential motive and the usage of power, is beneath investigation by the FBI, the U.S. Secret Service and the Palm Seashore County Sheriff’s Workplace.”
