U.S. District Court Judge Aileen Cannon on Sept. 15 appointed a special master to oversee the further review of documents seized by the FBI during its raid on Mar-a-Lago, the Florida residence of former President Donald Trump. Judge Cannon also rejected the DOJ’s request that it be allowed to continue with its own review of the material.
Raymond Dearie, a federal judge in New York, was named as the special master. Dearie was one of two people proposed by Trump’s legal team for the position.
