Taliban reportedly barring government employees without beards as restrictions on daily life mount

Afghanistan’s Taliban has instructed all authorities workers to put on a beard and cling to a gown code or danger being fired, three sources informed Reuters, the most recent of a number of new restrictions imposed by the hardline Islamist administration.

The sources stated representatives from the Ministry for the Propagation of Advantage and Prevention of Vice have been patrolling the entrances to authorities workplaces on Monday to verify that workers have been in compliance with the brand new guidelines.

Workers have been being instructed to not shave their beards and to put on native clothes consisting of an extended, free prime and trousers, and a hat or turban. They have been additionally informed to make sure they prayed on the right occasions, two of the sources stated.

Employees have been informed they might any further be unable to enter workplaces and would finally be fired if they didn’t meet the gown codes, the sources stated.

A spokesman for the general public morality ministry didn’t reply to a request for remark.

Parks ordered segregated by intercourse

Final week, the Taliban banned ladies from taking flights with no male chaperone and didn’t open ladies’ colleges as promised.

On Sunday it ordered parks to be segregated by intercourse, with ladies allowed to enter three days every week, and males the opposite 4 days, together with the weekend, which means even married {couples} and households can not go to collectively.

The Taliban wants Western international locations to elevate sanctions which might be crippling the Afghan financial system.
