T20 World Cup Points Table: Group 1 and 2 Points tally and standing after India’s win over Netherlands, and Pakistan’s loss against Zimbabwe

T20 World Cup 2022 Points Table: After completion of Gameday 2, India are comfortably perched at the top of the Group 2 Points Table of the T20 World Cup 2022. India have 4 points after winning both their matches – against Pakistan and the Netherlands. Take a look at the rest of the T20 World Cup Points Table:

T20 World Cup 2022 Group 2 Points Table:

After playing 2 matches each:

1) In Group 2, India are at the top after 2 matches with 4 points after beating both Pakistan and Netherlands.
2) South Africa are on the second spot with 3 points after beating Bangladesh, and sharing points with Zimbabwe after a rain interrupted match.
3) Also on 3 points, Zimbabwe take the third spot after beating Pakistan and sharing honours in the rain-affected match with South Africa.
4) Bangladesh take the fourth spot after beating The Netherlands and losing to South Africa.
5) Pakistan and Netherlands both have 0 points from two games each. Pakistan were walloped by India on Sunday, then stunned by Zimbabwe on Thursday. However, Pak are on the second-last spot by virtue of a better run-rate than the Netherlands.
6) The Netherlands are on the last spot after losing to both India and Bangladesh.

World Cup 2022 Group 1 Points Table

After playing 2 matches each:

1) New Zealand are top of the group with 3 points. NZ have won against Australia and shared points with Afghanistan after a rain-affected game.
2) Sri Lanka are second with 2 points, by virtue of winning against Ireland and losing their game against Australia.
3) England are third with 2 points, after winning against Afghanistan and losing their game against Ireland.
4) Ireland are fourth with 2 points, after winning against England and losing their game against Sri Lanka.
5) Australia are fifth in the points table with 2 points, after winning against Sri Lanka and losing their game against New Zealand.
6) Afghanistan are last in the Group 1 table with 1 point, after sharing points with New Zealand in the rain-curtailed game and losing their game against England.


Zimbabwe vs Pakistan: Zimbabwe beat Pakistan by 1 run

ZIM v PAK: Pakistan lost to Zimbabwe by one run in a thrilling T20 World Cup match in Perth on Thursday.

Zimbabwe opted to bat after winning the toss, and scored 130 for the fall of 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. A few Zimbabwe batsmen got starts, but could not go on to build on those starts. Sean Williams was the highest scorer for Zimbabwe with 31 off 28 balls.

Mohammad Wasim was the most successful bowler for Pakistan, returning with fine figures of 4/24 from his four overs. Leg-spinner Shadab Khan was also excellent with the ball — he picked up 3/23 in his quota of four overs.

Pakistan reply:
Needing 131 runs to win, Pakistan managed only 129 runs after losing 8 wickets.

Pakistan failed to score the three runs required for victory in the last ball of the match.

For Pakistan, Shan Masood top-scored with 44 off 38 balls. 

Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza picked 3 wickets for 25 runs, while Brad Evans picked up two wickets for 25 runs.
