Defence minister Sergei Shoigu instructed President Vladimir Putin on Sunday that “because of profitable army operations, the armed forces of the Russian Federation, along with items of the Folks’s Militia of the Luhansk Folks’s Republic, have established full management over the town of Lysychansk,” Russian information businesses reported.
Ukrainian fighters spent weeks attempting to defend Lysychansk and to maintain it from falling to Russia, as neighbouring Sievierodonetsk did per week in the past. A presidential adviser predicted late on Saturday that the town’s future could possibly be decided inside days.
