India on Thursday imposed 20 per cent export responsibility on export of assorted varieties of rice, excluding the parboiled and Basmati rice .
As per a launch by the Division of income, underneath the Ministry of Finance, the 20 per cent levy shall be imposed on export of rice within the husk (paddy or tough), husked brown rice, semi-milled or wholly-milled rice, whether or not or not polished or gazed (apart from Parboiled rice and Basmati rice).
The modifications will come into impact from September 9, the discharge additional stated.
