SAN JOSÉ, Costa Rica — Police in Puerto Rico stated Wednesday that an armed suspect flung open the door of an ambulance and fatally shot a person who was being handled by medics for bullet wounds he obtained throughout a capturing earlier within the U.S. territory’s capital.
It was an unusually violent incident that has shocked the island.
Police instructed reporters that the goal was a 62-year-old man who was free of jail in January after serving 25 years on rape convictions.
Police stated in an announcement that the person was shot at close to his residence earlier Wednesday and returned dwelling with a bullet wound, prompting his mom to name 911.
Shortly after the ambulance arrived at their dwelling in Santurce, the person was fatally shot, police stated. Authorities stated the medics weren’t injured however have been handled for shock.
It’s the second violent incident within the neighborhood of Santurce this week.
Police stated one individual was killed and 5 others injured early Tuesday in entrance of a membership following a battle between safety guards and armed males who needed to enter the institution.
