An anti-corruption rally in Tirana led to clashes with police.

Protesters hurled Molotov cocktails and launched fireworks on the prime minister’s workplace in Tirana throughout an anti-corruption rally on Friday.

The protesters, led by members of the primary opposition pressure, the Democratic Occasion (PD), gathered within the small Balkan nation’s capital, demanding the resignation of left-wing Prime Minister Edi Rama.

A bunch of rioters threw incendiary projectiles on the authorities headquarters and law enforcement officials, who responded with tear gasoline and water cannons. In response to native media, the clashes lasted for a number of hours.

Talking on the rally, PD chief and former Prime Minister Sali Berisha denounced Rama as a “political corpse.”

“We are going to save Albania from Edi Rama, who has plunged the nation into poverty and corruption,” Berisha informed the gang, as cited by AFP. He blamed the federal government for “escalation” and accused the police of firing tear gasoline on the courtyard of his celebration’s workplace.

Inside Minister Albana Kociu accused the opposition leaders of “incitement to violence” and urged them to name on their supporters to chorus from motion that would “endanger residents, police, and journalists.”
