Pope blasts violence in Mexico as he mourns 2 slain Jesuits

VATICAN CITY — Pope Francis on Wednesday blasted the violence that plagues Mexico as he mourned the slayings of two of his “brother” Jesuits who had been gunned down in a distant Mexican church by obvious drug gang members.

Francis, an Argentine Jesuit, provided prayers to the Jesuit neighborhood on the finish of his weekly basic viewers, saying he was “saddened and dismayed” to be taught of the slayings in Mexico’s mountainous Chihuahua state.

“How could killings there are in Mexico!” he mentioned. “As soon as once more, I repeat that violence by no means resolves issues however simply will increase ineffective struggling.”

Javier Campos Morales, 79, and Joaquín César Mora Salazar, 80, had been killed Monday contained in the church in Cerocahui.
