“South Koreans noticed america already trying one thing like a toothless tiger when it withdrew chaotically from Afghanistan,” Professor Lee stated. “If it proves spineless in Ukraine, they may speak extra about arming their nation with nuclear weapons, as a result of they wonder if Ukraine would have suffered the humiliation it’s struggling now had it not have given up its nuclear weapons.”

After the breakup of the Soviet Union, Ukraine gave up the Soviet nuclear weapons on its soil in alternate for safety ensures.
