(Reuters) – A Colorado man has filed what appears to be the first lawsuit in direction of McDonald’s (NYSE:) over an E. coli outbreak linked to Quarter Pounder burgers that has killed one specific individual and sickened virtually 50 others.
The lawsuit, filed in Circuit Courtroom in Put together dinner County, Illinois on Wednesday, alleges that Eric Stelly ate meals from a Greeley, Colorado McDonald’s on Oct. 4 and examined constructive for E. coli just some days later. Colorado properly being officers later knowledgeable Stelly that his E. coli was linked to the McDonald’s outbreak, the lawsuit talked about.
The lawsuit, which seeks higher than $50,000 in damages, claims McDonald’s was negligent in its coping with and care of the meals.
Representatives of McDonald’s, which is headquartered in Chicago, didn’t immediately reply to a request for comment.
