Labor board issues complaint against Starbucks in firing of 7 workers.

The Nationwide Labor Relations Board issued a grievance towards Starbucks on Friday for what the company mentioned was the illegal firing of seven staff in Memphis in retaliation for looking for to unionize.

The labor board mentioned the corporate fired the employees in February as a result of they “joined or assisted the union and engaged in concerted actions, and to discourage staff from partaking in these actions.”

The staff are a part of a wave of organizing at Starbucks wherein staff have voted to unionize at greater than 20 shops and filed petitions to carry votes at greater than 200. The corporate has roughly 9,000 corporate-owned areas nationwide.
