India recognised by ICAO for strengthening aviation safety oversight

India has been recognised by the Worldwide Civil Aviation Group (ICAO) for strengthening its aviation security oversight system.

Accordingly, the nation has been awarded the ‘ICAO Council President Certificates’.

In a proper communication addressed to the Director Basic, Directorate Basic of Civil Aviation, Faiz Ahmed Kidwai, ICAO Council President Salvatore Sciacchitano conveyed that the award can be offered to India on the forty second session of the ICAO meeting on the organisation’s headquarters in Montréal.

In accordance with ICAO, the council president certificates is awarded to states that display important progress in enhancing their aviation security oversight capabilities by means of goal and clear standards.

The worldwide aviation physique highlighted India’s enchancment within the efficient implementation (EI) of ICAO’s ‘Requirements and Beneficial Practices’ (SARPs) below its ‘Common Security Oversight Audit Programme–Steady Monitoring Method’ (USOAP CMA).

The popularity kinds a part of ‘ICAO’s No Nation Left Behind’ initiative, now elevated to a strategic aim.
