India Has So Far Blocked 320 Mobile Apps to Ensure Safe Internet for Users: Union Minister Som Prakash

The federal government has up to now blocked 320 cellular functions below a provision of the Data Expertise (IT) Act to make sure a secure, reliable and accountable web for all its customers, Parliament was knowledgeable on Wednesday.

In a written reply to the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Commerce and Business Som Parkash additionally mentioned that these cellular functions have been blocked within the curiosity of sovereignty, integrity, defence and safety of the state.

In February, 49 apps have been re-blocked after they have been discovered to have been re-launched after rebranding of earlier blocked apps, he mentioned.

“According to the target to make sure a secure, reliable and accountable web for all its customers, the federal government has up to now blocked 320 cellular functions below the availability of part 69A of the Data Expertise (IT) Act, 2000,” Parkash mentioned.

In one other written reply, he mentioned India has obtained solely $2.45 billion (roughly Rs. 18,701 crore) Overseas Direct Funding (FDI) from China throughout April 2000 to December 2021.

“China stands at twentieth place with solely 0.43 % share ($2.45 billion) in complete FDI fairness influx reported in India through the interval of April 2000 to December, 2021,” he added.

In a separate reply, the minister mentioned that in response to the federal government of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and Ministry of House Affairs, industrial funding proposals value about Rs 50,000 crore have been obtained by them.

Replying to a different query, he mentioned presently 146 central approvals throughout 21 ministries/departments are enabled to be utilized by the Nationwide Single Window System (NSWS) portal.

“14 states’/UTs’ single window techniques have been linked with the NSWS portal, thereby offering entry to approvals of those states/UTs to be utilized by a single login ID,” he mentioned.

All ministries and departments of the central authorities and states involved have been requested to combine their approval processes with the NSWS.

“At the moment, the KYA (Know Your Approvals) module has particulars of over 3,400 approvals throughout 32 ministries/departments and 16 states/UTs,” Parkash mentioned
