“The blocked YouTube channels had a cumulative viewership of over 260 crore, and had been used to unfold faux information, and coordinated disinformation over social media on topics delicate from the angle of nationwide safety, India’s overseas relations, and public order,” the Ministry stated in an announcement.

These blocked YouTube channels embody ARP Information, AOR Information, LDC Information, SarkariBabu, SS ZONE Hindi, Good Information, News23Hindi, On-line Khabar DP information , PKB Information , KisanTak, Borana Information, Sarkari Information Replace and Bharat Mausam, amongst others.

In sure instances, it was additionally noticed that systematic anti-India faux information was originating from Pakistan,” the assertion added.

Since December 2021, the Ministry has issued instructions for blocking 78 YouTube channels and several other different social media accounts for posting deceptive contents associated to nationwide safety, sovereignty and integrity of India and public order.
