FSIB recommends Ravi Ranjan as Managing Director of State Bank of India

Ravi Ranjan has been advisable for the function of Managing Director of State Financial institution of India (SBI) by
Monetary Companies Establishments Bureau (FSIB), the headhunter for administrators of state-owned banks and monetary establishments.

Ranjan is at present the Deputy Managing Director and will probably be changing Vinay M Tonse, who will full his time period on November 30.

FSIB interviewed 9 candidates on September 11, 2025, for the place of MD, the Bureau stated in a press release.

“Holding in view their efficiency within the interface, their total expertise and the extant parameters, the Bureau recommends Ravi Ranjan for the place of MD in SBI,” it stated.

The SBI board is headed by Chairman, assisted by 4 managing administrators.

Nonetheless, the ultimate resolution on FSIB’s advice could be taken by the Appointments Committee of the Cupboard, headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
