Flights temporarily suspended at Halifax airport after airplane landing incident

HALIFAX, Nova Scotia (AP) — An plane incident on the Halifax Stanfield Worldwide Airport prompted momentary delays to all flight operations Saturday evening.

Airport spokesperson Tiffany Chase mentioned that at roughly 9:30 p.m. Saturday, an Air Canada Specific flight operated by Pal Airways arriving from St. John’s, Newfoundland., skilled an incident upon touchdown.

Air Canada spokesperson Peter Fitzpatrick mentioned the Bombardier Q400 airplane skilled a “suspected touchdown gear concern” after arrival Saturday evening, including that the plane could not attain the terminal and the crew and 73 passengers had been off-loaded by bus.

Fitzpatrick mentioned that no one on board was injured, however a spokesperson from the Nova Scotia Royal Canadian Mounted Police, who responded to the incident alongside paramedics, mentioned minor accidents had been reported.

Chase mentioned flight operations had been suspended after the incident whereas ready for clearance that airfield operations might proceed, and one of many airport’s runways has since resumed common operations.

The reason for the incident is unknown and pending investigation.

Fitzpatrick mentioned they’re ready for Canada’s Transportation Security Board to launch the plane to allow them to return buyer belongings.
