Elon Musk calls Vinod Khosla ‘dumb’ in Twitter feud over Argentina’s economy

Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Indian-American billionaire Vinod Khosla clashed in a fiery social media spat that rapidly went viral. The tech titans locked horns over Argentina’s financial system, particularly President Javier Milei‘s conservative insurance policies.
Musk, a widely known fan of Milei’s libertarian beliefs, didn’t maintain again when Khosla criticized the Argentinian chief’s austerity program.Musk fired off a blunt reply, calling Khosla “dumb” and sparking a heated change.
All of it started when Khosla shared a Monetary Instances article, accusing Milei of wrecking Argentina’s financial system with Trump-like insurance policies. “Argentina’s unemployment charge soars to 52% underneath Milei’s dictatorial austerity program,” Khosla tweeted, warning that Trump’s return to energy may result in related financial turmoil.
His submit triggered a flurry of reactions, with Musk on the forefront, disputing Khosla’s declare with a pointy “dumb” retort.
Khosla’s alarming statistic turned out to be inaccurate. X’s group notes rapidly fact-checked the declare, displaying Argentina’s unemployment charge at 7.6%, not the outrageous 52% Khosla recommended. The slip-up didn’t cease Khosla from doubling down, nevertheless, as he fired again at Musk, calling out the “macho brains” of the tech mogul and accusing him of being biased on his personal platform, X (previously Twitter).
The feud took one other twist when Musk sarcastically chimed in on a person remark mocking Khosla for the huge error. Khosla, refusing to retreat, responded, “Poverty is gross underemployment. Too nuanced for macho brains to know,” accusing Musk of pushing false narratives whereas having fun with selective immunity from group feedback.
As the web skirmish unfolded, CNN added gas to the hearth with a report highlighting Argentina’s skyrocketing poverty charge underneath Milei. The nation has seen 3.4 million extra folks fall into poverty in 2024 alone, with practically 53% of Argentinians now affected—a quantity that has set social media ablaze as Musk and Khosla proceed their digital brawl.
