Eighteen Indian aircraft stranded overseas as West Asia airspace shut amid tensions

Eighteen Indian plane are caught at airports in West Asia, Athens and Istanbul because of the closure of airspace following the US-Iran battle, information from flight monitoring web site Flightradar24 exhibits.

Whereas IndiGo has seven plane on floor, Air India Specific has six planes parked at airports throughout West Asia. The listing additionally contains Air India (2), Akasa Air (1), QuikJet (1) and SpiceJet (1 moist leased aircraft).

The next airports have the utmost variety of Indian planes on the bottom: Dubai (5) and Abu Dhabi (5), adopted by Dubai World Central (2) and Istanbul (2). Athens, Bahrain, Doha and Sharjah airports have one plane parked every since Saturday because of the closure of airspace.

The Directorate Common of Civil Aviation has issued a security advisory to Indian carriers in view of ongoing battle in West Asia. Carriers have been suggested to chorus from working in West Asian airspace. 

“Any continued operations could be on the discretion of the operator based mostly on their security threat evaluation,” DGCA mentioned in its advisory issued on Saturday.
