Brazil’s Lula signs law to expand affirmative action, boosting quotas for Blacks in government jobs

SAO PAULO (AP) — Brazil’s President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on Tuesday signed a brand new regulation to broaden the nation’s affirmative motion insurance policies, rising the quota for presidency jobs reserved for Blacks from 20% to 30% and including Indigenous individuals and descendants of Afro-Brazilian enslaved individuals as beneficiaries.
