Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Tuesday stated he has accepted the resignation of Punjab Chief Minister-designate and Aam Aadmi Social gathering MP Bhagwant Mann with impact from March 14. Mann, the MP from Sangrur Lok Sabha constituency, had submitted his resignation from the Home to Birla on Monday.
“I had obtained a request for resignation from Bhagwant Mann, representing Sangrur constituency. I’ve accepted his resignation with impact from March 14,” Birla stated.
Mann, who was AAP’s chief ministerial candidate for the Punjab meeting polls, gained elections from Dhuri meeting phase within the state.
