Berlin police say they’ve detained a person who attacked and injured two individuals within the metropolis’s Charlottenburg neighborhood, additional jolting Germany days after a lethal Christmas market assault elsewhere within the nation

BERLIN — Berlin police stated they detained a person Tuesday who attacked and injured two individuals within the metropolis’s Charlottenburg neighborhood, additional jolting Germany days after a lethal Christmas market assault elsewhere within the nation.

Police stated the attacker was a Syrian citizen with residency in Sweden.

“Preliminary findings point out that the suspect could have indicators of psychological sickness and that there’s not indication for a terrorist motivation,” police spokeswoman Jane Berndt advised The Related Press, including that the investigation remains to be ongoing.

A police assertion known as it an “tried homicide.” It stated the person attacked two males in a grocery store and on a sidewalk in entrance of a close-by lodge shortly earlier than midday, allegedly stabbing them with a knife he had stolen from the grocery store.
