BERLIN — Berlin police stated they detained a person Tuesday who attacked and injured two individuals within the metropolis’s Charlottenburg neighborhood, additional jolting Germany days after a lethal Christmas market assault elsewhere within the nation.

Police stated the attacker was a Syrian citizen with residency in Sweden.

“Preliminary findings point out that the suspect could have indicators of psychological sickness and that there’s not indication for a terrorist motivation,” police spokeswoman Jane Berndt advised The Related Press, including that the investigation remains to be ongoing.
