Famend tabla virtuoso Zakir Hussain died on Sunday, December 15.
Confirming the information of his demise, the Ministry of Info and Broadcasting wrote on microblogging website X (previously Twitter): “The world has misplaced a real musical genius. Zakir Hussain’s contributions to the world of music will perpetually be cherished.”

He was 73 years outdated.
Hussain’s supervisor, Nirmala Bachani, stated that the maestro was battling blood-pressure associated issues, based on information company IANS.
Hussain was born on March 9, 1951, in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
Because the eldest son of the illustrious tabla participant Allah Rakha, Hussain was naturally drawn in direction of music from a younger age.
