2 UN peacekeepers hurt by Israeli fire in Lebanon, Israel’s military says

Two personnel with the UN peacekeeping mission in southern Lebanon have been wounded by Israeli fireplace on Friday when Israeli forces responded to a risk, Israel’s army stated in a press release.

It stated it had instructed personnel with the United Nations Interim Pressure in Lebanon (UNIFIL) to go to protected areas and stay there hours earlier than the incident, including that it’s conducting a radical assessment.

It comes as France summoned Israel’s ambassador on Friday to hunt a proof after Israeli troops fired at positions held by UN peacekeepers, together with on the Naqoura base in southern Lebanon, the overseas ministry stated in a press release.

“These assaults represent severe violations of worldwide regulation and should cease instantly,” the ministry stated.

France has about 700 troops as a part of the UNIFIL mission. None of its troops has been wounded to date.

The ministry stated that every one sides within the battle had an obligation to guard peacekeepers.
